Livingston FC have confirmed the permanent transfer of midfielder Olly Green to English National League side Boston United. The 22-year-old joined the Lions from Hull City last summer but made just eight appearances, with limited game time prompting the move south of the border.

Why did Olly Green leave Livingston FC?

With Livingston FC's midfield one of the strongest areas of the squad, manager David Martindale admitted Green's opportunities were restricted. The pair agreed that regular first-team football was crucial for his development at this stage of his career. "Ideally, a loan would have suited us," Martindale said, "but this transfer was best for Olly."

What does this mean for Livingston FC?

Green's departure comes as Livingston FC prepare for the new Premiership season after finishing 12th last term (1W-13D-19L from 33 games). The Lions scored 35 goals and conceded 66 in 2025, finishing 54 points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian. Martindale remains confident in his midfield options ahead of the new campaign.

What's next for Olly Green?

Green will reunite with former Livingston defender Graham Coughlan, now Boston United manager. The Pilgrims are battling relegation in the English National League, and Green hopes to make an immediate impact. "He was a great lad around the place," Martindale added, "and we wish him all the best."
